Frequently Asked Questions
How much does microcement cost per m² in Marbella?
Prices range between €45 and €120/m², including materials and labour. Cost depends on the surface area, substrate condition and chosen finish. We provide free, no-obligation quotes.
Can microcement be applied over existing tiles?
Yes. We apply microcement directly over existing tiles in good condition — no demolition, no dust, no rubble. We use specific bonding primers to guarantee a durable result.
Is microcement compatible with underfloor heating?
Yes. At just 3mm thickness, microcement conducts heat better than timber or ceramic tiles. We use fibreglass mesh to absorb thermal expansion and prevent cracking.
How long does microcement last?
When correctly applied and sealed, over 20 years. For high-traffic floors we apply high-resistance polyurethane sealers that protect against abrasion and staining.
How long does a bathroom renovation take?
Between 4 and 6 working days, without demolition or dust. Because we work over the existing tiles, the process is clean, fast and causes minimal disruption.
What is the difference between microcement and polyurethane resin?
Microcement has a cementitious base and organic texture, ideal for residential interiors. Polyurethane resin is harder and more resistant to impact and chemicals — perfect for garages, commercial spaces and exterior areas. SurfaceLab works with both systems.
What is decorative polyurethane resin flooring?
A seamless, jointless coating based on polyurethane polymers, applied at 2–4mm over any substrate. Waterproof, wear-resistant and with a minimalist finish — highly popular in luxury villas in Marbella and San Pedro Alcantara.
Can microcement be used outdoors?
Yes, using outdoor-specific formulations with UV protection and anti-slip additives — essential for terraces and pool areas on the Costa del Sol.
How do you maintain microcement floors?
Clean with water and neutral soap. Avoid acids and abrasives. High-traffic floors should be resealed every 3–5 years. Bathroom walls with our polyurethane sealer require no additional maintenance.
Where do you work on the Costa del Sol?
From our base in San Pedro Alcantara (Marbella) we cover the entire Costa del Sol and Campo de Gibraltar: Marbella, Puerto Banús, Estepona, Manilva, Casares, Benahavís, Sotogrande, Mijas, Fuengirola, Benalmádena, Torremolinos, Málaga city, Vélez-Málaga, Nerja, Torre del Mar, Algeciras, La Línea de la Concepción, San Roque, Tarifa and Cádiz.
